We are looking for a self-motivated team player with strong people skills and work ethic. We are a small office and work together as a team to create a warm, inclusive, welcoming synagogue community. The Administrative Assistant works collaboratively with our Rabbis, professional staff and lay leaders as well as with congregants. Candidates should be knowledgeable of Orthodox Jewish practice

Essential Administrative Duties and Responsibilities Include:
• Assisting in the day-to-day functioning of a non-profit organization.
• Communicate with congregants and new members. Create new member accounts and answer questions on the phone
• Updating monthly calendar
• Prepare and send weekly email bulletins, event communications to the community
• Prepare yahrzeit e-mails
• Update bulletin boards and content for lobby screens
• Manage registrations, databases, newsletters and online calendars
• Order food and office supplies as needed
• Organize materials for distribution
• Coordinate set up needs for maintenance crew
Additional duties are assigned by the Executive Director and President.

• Time Management – Self-starter who effectively manages time. Give balanced attention to appropriate long-term and short-term priorities.
• Strong organizational skills with accuracy and attention to detail
• Good initiative and work ethic, must possess the ability to monitor, define, prioritize and complete tasks without direct oversight
• Computer Skills– Agility with basic computer and online skills, including Microsoft Office and ability to Mail Merge Excel, Publisher, Canva, Zoom and social media platforms with aptitude to learn new systems and technical equipment as needed

Familiarity with Shulcloud, a plus.

Workweek: This is a Full-Time position. The expected hours are Mon-Thu 9am-5pm, Fri 9am-2pm (Summer), 9am-1pm (Winter)

Qualifications: Minimum 1-3 years of experience in an administrative role.
